Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) & Other Hypermobility Conditions
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a group of genetic disorders that affect your connective tissues — such as your skin, joints and blood vessel walls.
Symptoms
There are many different types of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, but the most common signs and symptoms include:
Loose, unstable joints that easily dislocate
Joint pain
Joints that click or pop easily
Severe fatigue
Skin that is easily bruised
Digestive problems, such as heartburn and constipation
Dizziness and an increased heart rate after standing up (POTS)
There's no cure for EDS, but it's possible to manage many of the symptoms. People with EDS may also benefit from support from a number of different healthcare professionals and here at Soma Hand Therapy, we can help coordinate that for you.
